The careful positioning of homestead sites throughout Esk Hills ensures the rural character and parkland setting of this property is not compromised.
In particular, each designated homestead area is a prepared building platform of approximately 1,500 sq/m. These platforms have been sited and contoured to maximize views while giving as much privacy as possible.
All buildings and structures (including fences, retaining walls and formal planting) must be within the defined homestead area. The open areas outside the homestead platform will remain largely in their natural state, and owners will be encouraged to add plantings of native species.
Building Design Guidelines have been prepared to achieve as much integration as possible between buildings and landscape. Essentially Esk Hills is about living lightly on the land by reducing the apparent impact of buildings. Input from a registered architect will be required to meet the design criteria and to capitalise on the opportunities suggested by each site’s natural setting.
